Hi, Have just started to look for a harold pitcher,do you have any info on the pitcher family

To make any comment on this thread you certainly have to know your Onions....sorry

My sister was married to an Onions in the 60s. A nice chap as I remember he came from Wednesbury. But sadly or otherwise they parted in the 70s and I have not heard of either for quite a while. I wish the fellow well ,he was far to good for my sister.

I was at school with a Martin Onions way back in the 1960's. Never seen or heard of him since...

Dorothy Onions was my grandmother, my dad was John Onions (Jack) if anyone remembers the family I would love to hear from them. He married my Mom, Ruth McGregor of Barton Street

Hi there i think we may be related
My paternal grandparents are Dorothy (maiden name Gimbert )and John (aka jack) Onions , my father is Leonard aka len or lenny, the youngest of their children . I know my dad had several siblings, Doreen and Jack being mentioned over the years . I did meet one uncle when I was younger , he had a son and daughter. Son was called Peter and was a musician and I cant remember the daughters name but I remember she was an amazing painter. I would love to speak to you more if we are related and would love to see any pictures of my grandparents if you had any.

It appears that Jackie is no longer a member so probably won't see your post. It does appear that you are cousins.

John and Dorothy appear to have had 6 children (3 before they were married). John appears to have been married before and had 4 children.

In 1921 Dorothy is living with her grandmother in Kinver with her 2 daughters and a step son.

Thank you for replying to my message and letting me know , unfortunately I dont know much about my grandfather as he passed when my dad was young around early 1940s . I only found out recently that they owned a bookshop and found this thread through Google. Do you have any more information on Dorothy and John or could you point me in the direction to start me off . Any help or information is greatly appreciated. Many thanks again , Dollie

It appears that...

John Onions was born 1885 in Oldbury, son of John Onions and Emily Bridge.

Marriage to Harriet Rosalie (Rose) Homeshaw was reg. Mar qtr 1907. They had more children than I suggested - Leslie Eugene (1908), Horace Raymond (1909), Doris Hilda (1911), Raymond Horace (1912), Florence Lilian (1914) & Joseph Harold (1917).

Horace, Doris & Raymond all died young and Joseph died aged 19 and the youngest 3 were born in Cheshire where John's family are listed as living on some of the censuses.

Harriet Rosalie died in 1918.

Marriage to Dorothy Gimbert reg. Dec 1929. They had Olive Emily (1920), Doreen Elsie (1921), John (1924), Josie Cecilia (1929), Alfred Donald (1931) & Leonard A (1939).

Dorothy registered as Mary Dorothy May was born 16 Jun 1898 in Kinver, daughter of John Gimbert and Hannah Nicholls.

In 1939 they were living at 114 Summer Lane.

Dorothy's mother died in 1900 and her father re-married later the same year.
Its so nice to see family history, it would seem i have an awful lot of cousins out there somewhere . This has all been so helpful thank you , if you find out anything else I would be more than happy to hear it . I shall pass this information onto my dad as im not sure he knew his father had another wife .
Thank you again ❣️
