Anyone familiar with Stoney Lane in the 50s? When I lived in Leamington Rd I went to the barber on Stoney Lane (0pposite Wilton Rd). You can see the barber's pole in this photo so, it must have been there some time. He used to have a plank of wood to rest on the arms of the chair so that us kids were up to his level. He had hand clippers which were warmed in a rack on a little gas fire. The one thing I noticed about the man himself was that he always seemed to be whistling "Beautiful Dreamer". Incidentally, the shop next door (next to the entry) was a fish & chip shop which my aunt Betty & Uncle Frank Middleham ran about 1954. Loved those free chips!
