This one is a bit different to what we are used to 85 Lichfield Road Four Oaks in 1981, tatty and rundown but outbuildings at the rear - stables?, bit different today where the houses are going for approaching 7 figuresView attachment 152858nt to what we are used to 85 Lichfield Road Four Oaks,
Bit puzzled by this one as 152 was not a corner house.I have this as 152 Birchfield Road Perry Barr nice selection of old cars, as a hint Janice I think this is the road before where street view shows you judging by the lamppost

Another row of houses on their last legs - this is 866 - 874 Bristol Road South, lovely terrace with coping and chimney pots. Note the Wee folk shop presumably for the wee folk people which funnily enough has lawn mowers in the window!

Looks a bit better today - this view 2019 as too many leaves on the trees on newer view. This one is a bit different to what we are used to 85 Lichfield Road Four Oaks in 1981, tatty and rundown but outbuildings at the rear - stables?, bit different today where the houses are going for approaching 7 figuresView attachment 152858
Long gone:611 - 615 Stratford Road from 1969 seems to be on its last legs, broken windows missing porches and the guttering is broken. You can imaging what these looked like 100 years ago , the wall and front garden still look okay and the sash windows and the arch window over the door set its time

Thats where I thought it was based purely on the lampost on the street corner just above the blue car !!Bit puzzled by this one as 152 was not a corner house.

However in this shot 50 Hatfield Road is the house on the left and I think all the houses on Birchfield Road, 144 to 152 and beyond went to allow the dual carriageway to be built. I also wonder if the house in view is 146 and the factory is that marked "Clothing factory" with a row of garages?? Any views?

Is this the garage I knew as Sandicliffe Motors? If so both my husband and I had cars from there.Last one and something a bit different, Ford garage on the Aldridge Road Perry Barr in 1987, over the road and down a bit from Perry Barr Park, note the Ford Capri just leaving. Bit of family link with the area, Dad used to play football and in the band on Pembroke Field the Boys Brigade land to the rear, father in law lived in the house opposite the park and used to complain about the band!! ( before we were linked) and I hired a car from here !!
same time tomorrow?

Looks an odd ad just over the door Irish Maltese CafeGood afternoon
I have a few cafes for you today - I use the word loosely as some I wouldn't go near !!
First up is Football joes cafe which is an Irish Maltese cafe apparently. Love the Pepsi sign and the fact they offer B& B
A little bit different but still Park Terrace on the right.11 Rookery Road Handsworth with a sign saying Park Terrace on the corner, old style blue enamel I believe. Old bubble gum machine and ornamental brickwork around the eaves, sign says its open but doesn't look like it

Bit further down Rookery Road 67 - 77 love how the shops step down and each has its own unique sign, not many streets with that selection of shops, No. 77 seems to have every window full of Fruit and Veg. and I love the projecting Players sign. Each first floor has arched windows, also note the old style telephone attachment on the top end wall View attachment 152922
Two shots here:69 Osborne Road in 1974, seems they like their cigarette with 3 different companies advertising. As we have seen before Twinings tea is still popular and the shop windows are full of produces - note the OMO washing powder. Shelves in the window on the right seem to be sagging a bit, seems to be all the sweet jars

This actually came up as 94 Stechford Lane as a search for 94 Stechford Road gave me a house in a row of houses not a corner view. However, the road seems to lead into the lane. Finally for today 94 Stechford Road in 1977, full of supplies, water tanks both hot and cold, kitchen cupboards, ladders and broom, love the old Bedford van and a nice old VW on the corner tooView attachment 152925
shame about the twinings lady being painted over...these signs are fast becoming a rarity...great photos steve...thanksTwo shots here:
First is 2011 with the Twinings Lady still there although the property is now a house
