OLD AND NEW PHOTOGRAPHS

This may or may not be correct - my rather vague list states building in Fazeley Street, but no mention of it been a former Church - thats what it looks like . seems a hole has been knocked through the wall to make and entrance on the right had side - ( Shocking) but at least its still there. Like the cobbled surface to the entrance too.

Had a bit of a hunt to find this location but now I know where I am - the white building is 17 Legge Lane the building to the left of that is The Gwenda Works which was built in 1913 for Sir Henry Manton, silversmith and cut-glass manufacturer, this is the name above the door and it says they were established in 1834, . The road fronting this is really just a small alley that leads down to Carver Drive, the buidling to the left has now been demolished and a new building is been built on site.

We now move onto Roll 72 and something different to start and may be of use to someone although the information provided is a bit vague, with that I mean could be incorrect- just seems strange that his surname is Aston- could it be Frank from Aston ?!

My information reads Frank Aston sent home to his mom.

My information has this as the "Masons Pop building in Thimble Mill Lane", however a look at the Masons pop link on this forum and there is not a mention - is this correct or just an assumed link?

Harry Mason (I can read his name on the picture) makes beer pumps and dispensing equipment. They are established for 60 years (or 200 years according to their own website!) Currently at 217 Thimble Mill Lane, Aston, Birmingham, B7 5HS. I don't know if there is any connection with Titus Mason the pop manufacturer in Smethwick? Does anyone know if there is a connection? Titus set up in 1895.
