The next image is overexposed and as far as I can see is the Nelson Inn (?) , guessing as this is a picture with no details, couple of children standing outside , sash windows are open on the upper floor and is that a pole supporting wires for the trams?
EDIT: Photo replaced and you can now see " THE" on the top of the front wall.

we now have a sloping road with a rear view of a number of properties , rear entrances large gates then what looks like a small pub/ outdoor just to the left of the pole. Leaded windows , roof at three different angles and Spirits written on the side. a talking of which we don't have telephone pole like that anymore
EDIT: now I have found more information it is saying this is the back of The Albion Wheeler Street - make sense?

This is another washed out image - love the glass windows with all their etchings, The Acorn Inn, again no idea of location or year, like all the carved posts, if you look to the right it seems the pub carries over into the building next door ( check the roof line)

as some of you know already it used to be a morgue and you could enter it in wheeler st or wilton st as both were linked by a long passage that was called the hall of memory...here is that pic of our dad sitting in the acorn reading the paper he would have been on a liquid lunch from his window cleaning or possibly working at lucas down the road as he did both

I dont think we have moved from the location of the previous picture but are looking further down New Street towards the Midland Hotel. If you view above ground floor level the image could be timeless ( seem to be fixated on "above ground floor " today) But I don't recall Days Corner and I worked in the city centre - how did that happen - especially as it is just up from Hudsons.

Finally tonight somewhere I have found although it is not recognisable today . This the Brown Lion Hall Street, a pub in the jewellery Quarter , over three floors, next door with its arched windows and pillared entrance - with what looks like a walled piece of land next to it - today we have a nail bar and a Jamaican Restaurant, with buildings on the walled piece of land just past Branston Street.

Continuing along the canal towpath and we are now standing on Holliday Street aqueduct , as I have said, on this roll I have no date information, but at first glance it could be any time in the last 50 years!! Firstly no traffic so I presume a Sunday, but when it is compared to today that open vista on the left has been lost and there are a line of new buildings on the right. This view has a more industrial feeling to it

Steve we might be able to get an answer to one of the earlier pics about Holliday Street , Rowe Bros showroom on the right with the white paint on the corner . The Corporation works dept that Astoness mentioned is on the left with the lamps on the columns entrance to the yard . If someone has good eyes or a strong magnifying glance you'll get the name of the place next door the yaerd we're trying to identify

I have thisphoto already, there dated 1964. However I am not sure where it is. It is not the one on Grange road. or Gt Lister or Temple row, There was one at 142 Sandpits, which would fit, but I do not have a photo to confirm. But it probably is that one

As Per Kelly's 1966/67 this is City of Birmingham Public Health Veterinary & Food Inspectors Bldg . The Public Works Dept is next door with the Lanterns on the columns

So finally some new pictures - The first is the Birmingham Arms Barford Street , which we can see is wrapped around three sides, love the lamp over the entrance , the wrought iron work at first floor level and the Mitchell and Butlers wording. I also like the buildings at the rear and the car parked

Next we have the George and Dragon Weaman Street, building full of character , large entrance , tall windows and brickwork too add the Chimneys and we have aloveley building. Building to the left looks good.

The modern 1960s Odeon on Smallbrook Queensway was also once called the Scala, I assume named after the earlier building. Viv.

Viv the 60's Scala cinema screened the entire original Batman serial , me and a mate spent Sunday afternoon in there watching the whole 22 episodes

The Globe , corner of Manchester Street and Blews Street taken 6th June 1990, Leaded windows upstairs and down,.Interesting roof line compared with the property on the right, large step down although it does not look to be a slope.

Quick picture - missed one off the last Roll, The Gate , High Street Saltley, leaded windows and nice ornamental support for the large lamp
note the stripped base to the lamppost, Saltley Timber yard, is the sign on the right ( I have a wider but poorer picture) .1879 on the wall above the gutter line.
