Hi, I have discovered I have ancestors from Birmingham area so thought it a good idea to join this site in the hope of finding some interesting people to chat to. So many in the world have heard of the bushfires over here, though I dont live in the fire state. Thats all for now - Wendy

Welcome to the site Wendy.
Very sad about the bush fires, pity our worthless government could not offer any assistance, they have forgotten the debt we owe Australia.
It was pleasing to see the Queen did not show the same ingratitude.
You should be able to find help on this site with family research, they are a friendly lot,and always willing to help.
happy hunting.

Thanks for that Ray.
Your right, most hunting ancestors are helpful people.
We have a common purpose in understanding the hardships our families went through.
I love to learn about the areas family came from in UK.
My G-Grandfather Charles Milligan and his family has been difficult to get much on.
My grandmother died before I got a chance to know her or learn of her past so now I am attempting to piece the puzzle together on her family before she emigrated to Australia.
Would be great to track down what happened to her sister.
I put a posting in the geaneology section about the family.
Toodles for now
Wendy

Hi Wendy: Welcome to the forum. Hope that you willl find some information on your family here.

Thank you to all those lovely people who have taken the time to welcome me to this site & share thoughts.
I am one who loves to watch the Antiques Roadshow because it allows me to see a little of England and the fabulous buildings over there.
I also enjoyed watching Doc Martin filmed in Cornwall.
I feel a part of me belongs in England after finding so many ancestors from there.
Have a good day all.
Wendy

This is for Barrie - I see Redditch on your strip - my Grandma was born in that area & her sister.
Have you been back to that area lately?
I have a 4th cousin whos Dad still lives there.
Wendy

Hello and Welcome Wendy09. You will find a friendly and intelligent lot on here. It amazes me the information they come up with. I am not a Brummie but the members allow me to wander the forum asking the odd daft question.Bit like keeping a stray.
You will enjoy it here, I guarantee it.
