What a wonderful collection of photos, thanks. I remember at lunchtime in school the headmistress called us all into the hall to tell us what had happened and we said a prayer for any fathers who might be there.

The Lions of the Great War monument, which will be installed later this year in Smethwick, West Midlands, will honour the South Asian service personnel who fought for Britain.”

A service of Remembrance will be held at the Gallipoli Memorial on Thursday 25th April.
ANZAC Day, observed on the 25 April each year, was originally established to remember the anniversary of the start of the Gallipoli Campaign on 25th April 1915, it is now a national day of Remembrance in Australia and New Zealand. This year marks its 104th Anniversary.
