Mornington Smethwick

My grandfather lived at 25 Mornington Terrace, Mornington Road, Smethwick up to Jan 1921. I would appreciate guidance on where this may be as the maps I’ve looked at don’t identify it.IMG_6777.jpeg

Yes, there appears to be gardens front and back, I was confused as to the reason for the 'alleys' between some of the properties because I thought they would just have a back door to each house but looking at the 1889 map the 'alleys' were to gain access to other properties at the back. Strangely though these don't appear on the 1889 or 1921 census so a bit of a mystery. Could be for access to toilets or wash-houses, perhaps other members have a suggestion.

On the 1889 map the areas at the back are shown as communal, I lived in a back2back until the age of 7 and our communal area was basically the compressed rubble from the original construction.
