Gone but not forgotten. R.I.P.
Just to let all members know that Wendy has resigned as a moderator as from today.

Sorry to hear that but I can understand its a very demanding job. Thankyou Wendy for all your hard work. Shera xx

Hi postie
Many thanks for informing us all about Wendy resigning like wise with other members shall miss her doing all the hard work she had done for us all
And I know she as been with us for many years I also wish her all the best and she can recoup from the hard work
And I am sure all other moderated work hard for us all and to say we as members do really appreciate what our moderaters are doing for us all
And of course your good self best wishes to Wendy and your self and good lady Astonian,,,Alan

Sorry to hear that Wendy you have always worked hard and I am sure we will still continue to see you at our meetings. Good luck. Hope it was nothing to do with FB!

As a Moderator,if I was doing my job I should delete these posts but I am leaving them for a while so that members who have known Wendy from when this forum
was going through its bleakest moments can see how petty some members can be

Hi Alberta,
I think some of these comments are Bit below the belt its like kicking a man when he his down regarding our Wendy
For all the hard work she as done for most of us over the years in more ways than one
And yes I started Wendy started in her early days as I recall years before coming a moderator
I know its an highly demanding job and you have to work on it twenty four hours a day and combine it with your personal life and it can interfere
With your personal home life
My friend and close neibour used to be a moderator for the kings heath society area years back and it was area years back when I mentioned to him
That I was a member of this great forum and then it was then he told me of the things he done for the society by going out and researching information
But it took the strain on his family life he had sons and a mother aged to visit and attend to plus his wife the strain on his marriage
He was forced to throw the towel I its highly demanding and highly stres . Full and that made me think awhile ago
Because I used to spend a lot of time on here for years then my old Dutch ESS started to give out to me about the time I was coming on the forum
So I eased off
And I know and you know area years back there was a break down on here with area old members whom made comments about other members
Which was uncalled for and was members for years they was struck off the forum
I personally think some of the posting about our Wendy are just unjustably called for and should be removed
That is my personal opinion may be I should not talk about it but i hope our Wendy still sticks with us on the forum as a member
And that we have lost a very valuable forum moderator and I hope she looks back and takes it as duck to water off its back
I myself are saddened to read such comments as well as our other members must feel about it like us.

Although it now appears that Wendy is no longer a member she will be able to read your post Alan and I am sure that she will appreciate your words.
regards Alberta

Looks like my post as been misinterpreted again. I was only implying that Wendy has probably taken on too much with moderating the Facebook BHF as well.

I think all of us "mere members" owe a debt of gratitude for the hard work the moderators do. If one of them resigns to do something different then that is their choice. I am a relative newcomer to this site but would wish Wendy well in the future and am sure she will continue to keep her eye on us. As I don't use (and have no intention of using Facebook) I am not sure about all the references to that.
Thanks Wendy and all the best.

Janice

Dear members, Please be advised that Wendy has only resigned her position as part of the admin team on this forum, she has NOT left the forum as a member, her membership has been terminated by admin for reasons only known to themselves. Perhaps someone from admin would explain why they have taken this action.

Thank you for all your hard work Wendy.

An observation, this Forum has the BIG advantage re. B'ham history in that it gives members the opportunity to look in-depth at its history and it's a wonderful resource of info dating back over a long period. Let's continue to keep it that way. Viv.

Janice there are no mere members here, all members are valuable no members ,no forum.

Micky P. the moderators are as puzzled as you and are asking for answers on the Admin forum.
I am sure that it must be some technical issue, and Wendys membership will be reinstated shortly.

Apparently it IS a purely technical issue and Wendy's status as a full member will be restored shortly.

Well spoken Alberta if our Wendy wants to step down from her postion then its her personal choice and her personal Affair
And no ones Business except her own and there is no reason why she as to declare her reason for stepping down from office
As Alberta as said we are all valuable members to this forum and if we lose a member through what ever reason such as death
Its like a personal family at home when it comes to meal times that place mat and chair is void and you miss your member of your family
Around the Table her reasons for doing so does not need to be Answered to us
She was a valuable member to us all
But let's bless our selves she as not left the flock so to speak and we still have her and her valuable knowledge to us and any other new member we may acquire
And she will be back on track soon with us
But us as members do not need to asked the question as to what and why anymore regarding our lovely knowledgeable and specialist subject
Of Wendy thanks again Alberta for informing us all Alan,,,, Astonian,,,,,,

I would like to thank Wendy for her help and hard work, and to send best wishes.
I think all our Moderators do a difficult job and I'm grateful to them all also.
rosie.

Thank you for all your kind words, well some of you!!. I will need time to sort myself out as I have lost all my stored photo's. I don't store them on my computer, hopefully some will still be on the site. Hope the site continues from strength to strength.

oh what a shame wendy, hope you can access your photos again. so glad you are back safe and sound. :smug:

Welcome back Wendy :encouragement: We all appreciate the work you have done in the past for the forum.

Hi All,

I haven't a clue to what has been going on but I am relieved that Wendy has rejoined us.I have been a member for about 7 years and I would like to inform anyone who has been abusive or unkind to Wendy that in those 7 years she has not only been a hard working moderator but also a regular contibutor to various threads. In particular she has extensive knowledge of the older Birmingham cemeteries such as Key Hill and has helped many members with their queries on that subject.

I am sure that we all sympathise with Wendy regarding the loss of her photgraphs and sincerely hope thaty she recovers many of them if not all.

Thank you Wendy.

Chris Beresford. (Old Boy)

I would certainly like to state my appreciation and thanks for the great work Wendy has done as a moderator since I have been a member of this forum. I would also like to add that as a moderator she has excelled; and has set the standard for what great moderating is about.

Its not an easy job balancing what is right and just against the internet tolls and keyboard warriors who hide behind their computers with their slimy little fingers doing the talking and shooting off the bullets.

A very big thanks again Wendy x

Wendy am sorry to hear you have stepped down as a moderator on the Forum as you have always done a grand job and been very fair and understanding in your decisions. I too know you wouldn't have taken this decision lightly and wish you all the best for the future. Look forward to seeing your photo's when you have sorted them all out. You and Michael take care and speak to you soon. xx
