Does anyone have any photos of Miles Street, Small Heath from the early 1920s or thereabouts?

Need this to complete family history photo book.

Thank you. Was looking for more a picture(s) of the houses along Miles Street, just as an example of what it looked like when my Nan lived there in the mid 20s.

My Grandparents lived on Miles Street in the 1890's, wish i could help you with a photograph would like one myself..

I lived in Lawden Road which I think was just round the corner from Miles Street. We were in an upstairs maisonette between 1949 & 1960. Does anyone have any memories?

I certainly rember Miles Street and Lawden Road. I work for the housing department at the time and used to do the repairs on the estate. Great little pub called the Plum of Feathers and quite a few interesting characters.

I remember a pub in Miles Street but I was only a child so didn't get in there. I can remember walking past on our way to Coventry Rd (I think) when we went shopping. I found a photo on here today of Lawden Road before the maisonettes were demolished, I don't suppose you know what year they were demolished!

Miles Street and Beamish Road were demolished between 1984 and 1985, I watched them pull down the Plume of Feathers Pub I was coming home from School got off the 98 or 99 bus on Coventry Road crossed over the grass where McDonald's is now, into Bordesley Park Road and watched it happen I was around 14 at the time, it was sad to see a part of Small Heath history now confind to memory, wish I had a camera at the time, like we all take for granted now with our Mobile phones etc, but back in 84/85 they were a thing for the future.

Would it be OK to use this photograph on my website? It is related to Lyn's Villa Tavern via a late Victorian publican.

By the way, there was another pub in Miles Street called the Queen's Arms Inn - oh, and also a large malthouse.

As usual I haven't a clue where I collected the image from, so I am unsure of it's copyright status as I post all my images on the understanding that I will remove them immediately if a copyright issue arises and I never post anything that states it is copyrighted. Although I can tell you that

Thanks for that Phil, looks like it's a Mirror Group image. I only want a thumbnail so will use it and credit them - won't feel too guilty as I have recently made donations to the charities listed on the Wigan Pier Project pages, along with food bank stuff - who says we are the 6th biggest economy when these problems still exist?
