Marshall Street Holloway Head

This next image was labelled Davenport's Garage and was demolished in 2020, if anyone can provide provenance to this ownership/occupation I would appreciate it.

Kelly's directory has been of little help identifying businesses on the 'south side' of marshall street between 1949 and 1973 (see attached).
I would very much appreciate it if someone with a subscription to The British Newspaper Archive could find information for this period.
I can only assume that businesses arrived and left after short periods. Thank-you

It's not surprising that the Kelly's directory lacks details if the former Midland Sandblast Co building is anything to go by. Between 2008 and 2024 it changed hand or rebranded 8 times.

Last image showing Thomas Plant, on the far right of the image the name John is visible, it could be the factory of John Henry Gibbs (mfg. perfumer) listed in Kelly's 1939.

a shearch for Marshall St 1949-1973 produces 1200 hits, so not very practical to search. but hope these of Midland Sandblasting might be of interest, In nov. 1949 they were in Hockley Street, a scan be seen

A summary of what I have found of the history of the properties on the 'south side' of Marshall Street.
