Thanks Lloyd I thought it wa something new and didn't know it was a Scottish invention - Have you ever gone to the chippie and tasted one one? - Sounds a really mixed concoction - just like haggis LOL
Apparently, in Scotland you don't ask for 'Fish and Chips', I was told you ask for 'A Fish Supper', the 'supper' means with chips.
I asked - What do you get if you ask for 'A chip supper'?
In Birmingham when i was a child I did ask for a fish supper which consisted of chips and the ends of fish. . For my parents it was a perhaps two fish and chips- I don't particularly care for doctored up food i like to see what I am eating - so I won't be trying deep fried mars bars any time soon.
My husband Stuart is a Scotsman, and now doesn't like haggis LOL think i must have Anglicized him LOL
