Lyndhurst Estate Erdington & Park Road Aston

RosemaryB

Brummie babby
Two disparate enquiries/pleas. Re Lyndhurst Estate, I am still seeking photos of the estate in 60s-70s, particularly Rowden Drive and the shops, and perhaps Lyndhurst Primary School. Re Park Road, Aston, I have 'inherited' an old newspaper cutting showing the only photo I have ever seen of Park Road. I would love a better copy, or indeed any photos of this long-demolished road. I am guessing the photos is from Birmingham Evening Mail, but don't know. Can anyone help me please ?

RosemaryB, Have you used the search top right hand of this page to search for both area's, ?, if you are still unable to find any photo's of Park Road, I have a few on my facebook group site " AstonBrook Through AstonManor " but I would try the search on here first you will get better replies.

Aston Lad,
I looked up "Old photographs of Birmingham". I found a photo of Lyndhurst under construction. Not sure how I found it. Not very good with the computer hope you can work it out.

Rosemary, Attached is pic of Park Road, Aston, looking down to Church, Aston Park on left and Sycamore pub top right. This would be about 1950 because of the 3X tram (Witton to Martineau Street) which I caught many times, I lived in Queens Road bottom of hill 1s right 1930/35 and 1943/48 (Am 93 YO). Eric

I am embarrassingly useless re search functions etc, and don't use Facebook, so would be so welcome for any help you can give to me

Rosemary, go to the search logo (a magnifying glass), click it and type Lyndhurst Estate. There is a lot there and with what Lyn sent regarding post 5 you should have plenty to look at.
