Nice post card of Lozells St Hall ( corner of Lozells St and Gerrard st ) its still standing but has been extended i think. Max

How strange Bernard , the postcard is from a painting by an old friend and neighbour of mine who lived by me in Ward End. He painted under the name of Davron ( you can see his signature on your card 1983 ) His most famous i guess is " The Last Tram From Villa Park " , i tried to buy the original of that from him but the cost then was more than i could afford with a young family at the time. I undestand that he sold all of his paintings to a company in Erdington called Seasons i think, they had the copyright and produced many of his paintings as postcards.
His real name was/is Ronald Pratt. Max

An absolute cracking Photograph of Villa Rd, looking across Hampstead Rd, on the left of the Brougham, past the driver you can see the Goulbourne Arms complete with flag pole, and in the far distance The Villa Cross. Max
 
Hi Max, I did see the copyright on the card, Enids Dad ,Horace Turville had a stall in the Rag Market for many years
selling bits and bobs and after he died in 1975 we had an tin with photos, postcards etc and three of these cards were
in the tin, was I wrong to post it on the forum? Let me know, strange thought, Enids brother Hoss had the tin before us, he must have bought the card if it was 1983, he used to do markets and carboot sales, Bernard

An interesting comparison of the corner shop, in the later picture 'pretend' half-timbered and with the bay window rebuilt as a half-turret, seen in your earlier view (post #306) as built

Ahh damn i was only guessing at a Brougham as i lived in Brougham St. Sorry about that. Ps Really interesting guy was Brougham. Worth looking at his history. Max

Hi Paul,Afraid she had to have her put down, got problems with my own little dog, Jack he is going in
for a operation on his hip on Friday morning, old age I think same as me, cheers Bernard
