This is my first post here so my apologies if I'm submitting to the wrong place. My father David Weaver used to post on here quite a bit until he passed away in 2016. It's winter here in Australia and thought I'd take advantage of my hibernation and pick up where he left off on the family history search.
I'm looking for any descendants of Florence Jenkins who I believe was born in Aston/Birmingham in 1899. Florence was the daughter of my great-grandfather Albert Edward Jenkins (a saw sharpener by trade) from his first marriage (wife's name unknown) before he married my great-grandmother Emma Jane Webb in 1900/1901. Florence remained in her father's care until 1904 when she and her 5 month-old half-brother Harold were removed by the state to Aston Workhouse in Gravelly Hill (Harold died not long after). Albert Jenkins died in Kent the following year (September 1905) from a heart attack aged 29. Our family have only recently discovered this information and were hoping to find out what may have happened to Florence and whether she was able to build a good life after such tough beginnings. I've done the usual Ancestry deep dive without much luck but will be contacting Warwickshire County Public Records to see what they might have in their collection.
In the meantime I'd love to know if there are any descendants of the Jenkins family here who might be able to shed some light on the fate of Florence and other extended family.
