Location I.D.

Next to the very tall street/commercial light on modern views is a telegraph pole (it appears alongside but is in fact further back and in a side street). See images below. The telegraph pole is on the corner of Warner Street and Warwick Street. Think it could be the same as in the B&W photo. If so, the buildings in view on the B&W photo are in Warwick Street, and are behind the pole.So those buildings aren't on Bradford Street.

So that makes me wonder when the car parts/garage building at #206 Bradford Street was built. (currently A1Clutches and in the 1980s was Phillips Garage). If we can find that out, we might have a more reliable date for the B&W photo.

Lots of 'ifs' and speculation, but that's how we get to the bottom of these queries by looking into a range of possibilities!

It appears that the same company occupied #206 Bradford Street from 1921 (possibly earlier) until at least 1967/68 (possibly later), I don't have access to Kelly's after 1968.

So I expect the current building was there before the B&W photo. Having said that, it's hard to tell in the photo what's behind the "Netools &" hoarding, and even if it is a hoarding. But worth a try to see if it works as a theory with the info we've gathered. Thanks, John.

Another train of thought was that she helped out with charing and certainly her Aunt ( Beatrice) cleaned at Bulpits - probably Camden St along with her Mother ( Ivy's Gran).....and also another Aunt Leah got married and for a time lived in Camden St (need to confirm date but almost sure around 1939ish). Her address was in the low numbers mayber 20-40. Beatrice was there 1940 as she died from Asthma and Bulpits put something in the paper about her.She was only 20.

Belated thanks to everyone who has helped with this search..........I can confirm that Ivy DID live at 5/32 Moseley Road,Camp Hill in 1950.
I have managed to get access to b and w negatives some which are probably from same roll as the pic of Ivy at the start of this post. Theres also some of people we dont know as yet that look like they are in a park with a factory behind that looks like a Norman C Potts. I have found some records of a factory online but no address as yet.

if the photos were taken on the same day then i guess that is possible especially as they lived in moseley road....do you know if they had any children?

I dont know why she would have negs for these snaps or who took them....thanks for confirming this sis Moseley Road.......

Going back to the original street where Ivy is standing I have more Negs and it shows a little more of the street.

I dont know anything about them....The negs are from different times as they include her wedding (1953) and later with we think her daughter...my wife....which is after 1957.....thought the original Ivy pic was just pre war when she would be late teens but confused now.

yes its confusing...you may never know who they are unless someone in the family recognises them

Apologies if I've got the wrong end of the stick but isn't the lady in post #1 and post #41 wearing the same dress?

Apologies Lyn.

I inferred that Keith suggested that the original photo was much earlier but the same dress seems to imply the same time?
