Location I.D.

Next to the very tall street/commercial light on modern views is a telegraph pole (it appears alongside but is in fact further back and in a side street). See images below. The telegraph pole is on the corner of Warner Street and Warwick Street. Think it could be the same as in the B&W photo. If so, the buildings in view on the B&W photo are in Warwick Street, and are behind the pole.So those buildings aren't on Bradford Street.

So that makes me wonder when the car parts/garage building at #206 Bradford Street was built. (currently A1Clutches and in the 1980s was Phillips Garage). If we can find that out, we might have a more reliable date for the B&W photo.

Lots of 'ifs' and speculation, but that's how we get to the bottom of these queries by looking into a range of possibilities!

It appears that the same company occupied #206 Bradford Street from 1921 (possibly earlier) until at least 1967/68 (possibly later), I don't have access to Kelly's after 1968.

So I expect the current building was there before the B&W photo. Having said that, it's hard to tell in the photo what's behind the "Netools &" hoarding, and even if it is a hoarding. But worth a try to see if it works as a theory with the info we've gathered. Thanks, John.

Another train of thought was that she helped out with charing and certainly her Aunt ( Beatrice) cleaned at Bulpits - probably Camden St along with her Mother ( Ivy's Gran).....and also another Aunt Leah got married and for a time lived in Camden St (need to confirm date but almost sure around 1939ish). Her address was in the low numbers mayber 20-40. Beatrice was there 1940 as she died from Asthma and Bulpits put something in the paper about her.She was only 20.
