Lincoln's Inn Birmingham

Lincoln's Inn seems to have once have been an address off Corporation Street. It existed from at least the 1880s until at least 1919. It's not a location I've heard of before (at least not associated with Birmingham). I wondered if it was so named (after the London Lincoln's Inn? ) as originally a place connected with the legal profession ?

Here are a few examples of resident businesses.

Still there then Mike, thanks. The present "Gazette Buildings" looks original (and "handsome as per Pedro's post #4 description). The court behind appears to, I think, have since been built over - no surprise I suppose. The modern satellite view below shows no courtyard.

To me an interesting snapshot of Birminggams legal history, showing it shifting away from Waterloo Street to be nearer Victoria Courts, built in the 1880s. There's still carved evidence on a few of the building names at this part of Corporation Street ie Court Chambers, Court Restaurant (now a different name, but the old name remains above the entrance).

Nice to see these buildings have survived.
