Lichfield Road Aston

I see it now, Stars gives a date of 1921, the Birmingham Archives and Collections gives 3 years later in 1924.
 
It has appeared on this thread before (Post 55 by Stars) together with a later view dated 1930. I believe the photos were taken from the junction of Lichfield Rd and Aston Hall Rd near the King Edward pub looking towards Salford Bridge.

Yes, I think its looking towards Salford Bridge during the road improvement scheme. The remnants of the Birmingham Corporation Waterworks Department filter beds are on the left as is in the distance ethe old Aston Wells Pumping Station. The filter bed were made redundant by the Elan Valley scheme but I have a feel that Aston Wells Pumping Station continued to operate, the building was still there until they built the motorway
