Hi hope you are all well? would anybody be able to tell me if king Norton school in 1906/7 would be anything to do with the work house and can I view people for both online please ? Thank you x

"Kings Norton School" ie the old grammar school had no connection with the workhouse.

By 1906/07 there was no longer a separate workhouse for Kings Norton. The Kings Norton Union Workhouse which covered Kings Norton was at Selly Oak and later became Selly Oak Hospital. The only school at that time connected with the workhouse was on the Shenley Fields Cottage Homes site.
 
Oh thank you so much. The reason I asked was we found out my nan celia grace Phillips was registered into allcock school on 1906 coming from king Norton school.

In 1901 celia was living virtually next door to allcock street . She was 6 when she found her mum passed away in 2/ 4 alcock street courtyard. As her dad albert Philips was away in the Boer war we thought that sarah sister mary jane ( ginny ) looked after them but it does not appear to be the case.

We went to library a few years back and we actually saw this in writing but suddenly the lady behind the counter suddenly exclaimed that it was a closed book as the later children were in it were under the 100 year rule .

We are trying to find out if there is a register for kings Norton and where it could be found.

As I said on your other thread you could check the library archives catalogue but I would be surprised if registers exist. Even recently schools were only required to keep registers for 6 years after a pupil left. (It might be different now registers are digital).
