Thanks for all the information on the marriage. William order that one. Don't understand why you carnt get a pdf for marriages. You probably do. Strange. Thnx Pam. Need a win on ggs lol.
 
The reason you can't get PDFs for marriage certs is to do with their legal use. If a woman uses it as proof of change of name, for example, it must be the full certified certificate issued by the GRO. PDF files are only copies and not legally binding.

A couple of bits of luck - Agnes' parents, Patrick & Mary married just after registration began, Jun 1938 Bham.

And on the 1871 census Agnes is with her widowed mother and she gives her birthplace as County Mayo.

Here is the Catholic listing for Patrick and Mary's marriage, though there's little detail...

I dont know how you do it Pam. I might be attempting Irish ancestry . I've screenshot all the info from yourself, Mark and Lyn. Half my tablet memory is probably ancestry lol.
I don't like Latin. Glad I failed my 11 plus. My dad wasn't bless him. With ancestry discovered a hell of alot about my life. Lucky I found this site years ago. A few great people who've pushed the boat out. Take a bow. Mark & Lyn too. Cheers.A few. Certificates needed.

Which census did you find Agnes living alone with her Irish mother. Think you said County Down. Think she was O'HARA. Thanks again, Keith.
 
Agree Lyn, Pam and Mark and yourself been amazing. It does wear you out a bit. Glad Mark threw a spanner in the works. I do agree that the only proof is pdfs or certificates.
Well considering my wife's mom was Welsh and dad Scottish. Totally untrue, but there is an Irish connection. Right, Sunday dinner, Ake my time putting info in order. Thank you all so much.
 
Hi, read through past info. Mark said parent was Edward? Slightly confused regarding Martha Wainwright or Martha Jane Wainwright. Any proof of which one. Also proof of Thomas Johnson going back. He married Martha Wainwright in 1867. Not sure if you can pick these up. Or do I repost, thanks, Keith.

Apologies - you had both names in your post and I got confused.
Yes William's mother was Matilda Wainwright.
I will do some digging tomorrow. It can be tricky with some common names.
