John Whybrow Photos

ADELE

Hello
Does any one know about a photograher called John Whybrow.
Today when looking in a charity shop I came across two wonderful large photos in nice frames of photos in aston, because of my family connection with Aston I bought them for under ten pounds.
Im not bothered about if they are worth money I just wanted to know a little more about the man who took them, had a quick look for him but havent found much.
Thanks Adele

to see more put Whybrow Collection into the search box, it in the Bull Ring thread

also put "whybrow collection" into google

Great thanks will take a look. I must say I was really taken with what I bought, Im pleased i did get them.

Do you know the names of any of these books, like to see if the library could get hold of them. The two pictures I have are really good, one is of Aston cross and the other an outdoor in Devonshire Street Birmingham.
Think I made a good purchase and am looking forward to them going on my wall.

Adele - I think they are just the John Whybrow Collection, have you looked on Amazon? They will be out of print now, I am sure. Birmingham Library will have them, he was a Birmingham man, or very nearly so.

I have just looked on Amazon Adele - two are available, How does your Birmingham Grow? and another, but cannot remember the title. Both cheap.

I have a copy of 'How Does Your Birmingham Grow' - second hand but in really good conditon. Smelt a bit old book when it arrived but OK now.

I realise the thread is a bit old but anyway, I worked at John Whybrow Ltd between '69 and '73. He was a nice bloke, very laid back for a boss!
