John Vincent Kerr

Might be more likely than the one in Aldershot. At least you know they were in the same area.
You think so? I just kept searching, saw St Thomas parish. Total guess. My wife's dad always said he had Scottish blood. Probably when he visited Scotland and bought the clan cap lol. Don't think he or anyone knew, I've got them in Sun Street, Brum. Mother in law claims she's Welsh. No evacuated to Wales lol. Cheers.

At the moment I can't see how it can be proved that the Vincent Kerr on the 1861 census is the correct one but he is a possibility.

Unless a marriage between Vincent and Mary can be found or Harriet's marriage certificate lists a regiment (as some do) then it will probably just remain that.
i agree mark...positive proof is needed..guess work is no good if we want to follow the correct line...as you say sometimes that is just not possible

The John Kerr, son of John and Ann on the 1851 doesn't appear to be the one. He is listed as Ker on subsequent censuses, is listed as builder's clerk and marries someone else.

Sep qtr 1884 Kings Norton to William Weaver.

As it costs money, I'd consider the chances of finding something useful. I know it's only a tenner or so but it can start to mount up.

Also it's only my opinion that it's the correct one, I've been wrong before.

Your lovely people. More than welcome. I think The Faulkners were well researched. Just The bloomin Kerrs. Thanks again to all. Will report back with cert info. Take care. Visited a church today, being meaning to for 5 yrs. Needed to try and switch off lol. Stretton en le field. Not used, but was open, amazing rely. Probably four wealthy houses there, so the congregation was no longer. No car park, hidden away. Junc11 m42. Different world.

glad you enjoyed your trip to the church i love them....oh that death you found for a mary kerr 1st quarter of 1891 is mostly likely her as i cant find her on the 1891..1901 or 1911
