hi
john biggs born abt 1854 in Birmingham he died in 1906 I would like to know who is parents are and where john biggs is buried
kind regards

Can't find much. There's a birth registration for a John Biggs Jun qtr 1855 Aston and another Jun qtr 1856 Birmingham.

There's only one reference for a John Biggs b c1854 in the censuses and that's in 1881 Stourbridge, where he is living with a wife, Sarah, and 3 children. He's listed as a wheelwright.

There's a marriage for a John Biggs and a Sarah Groom, 13 July 1873, St Thomas Dudley.

And there doesn't seem to be any local deaths listed either.

More information might help - wife, children, where he lived.

A bit of an elusive character the John Biggs, who married Sarah Groom, the only way to trace him back would be to obtain his marriage certificate to find fathers name and occupation.
His name, age, and place of birth change every 10 years,as do the names and ages of his children
If this is your John biggs kc here is a bit of info. about him.

Well spotted Alberta, hopefully it's the right person.

John also seems to be listed as Hayes on the 1871 census, living in Halesowen with two lodgers all listed as itinerant showmen. Only 15 but listed as head.

William is listed as b1890 on findmypast and as 1 1/2 on familysearch for 1891 census.

Just seen a message on the rootschat forum suggesting that John's parents are James Biggs/Hayes and Caroline Smith.

They are supposedly living next door to John in 1871 (I can't check) and James is listed as an itinerant showman also.

Marriage for James Biggs and Caroline Smith 24 Sep 1852, St Thomas Dudley.

On the 1871 census he is listed as living in a caravan and the next entry is for James and Caroline Hayes aged 37 and 35 with a sister in law Louisa Parsons. Could these be his parents?

Janice

On the 1881 census Caroline is listed as Biggs a performer living in caravan at Five Ways, Tibbetts Garden (Rowley Regis) with 4 nieces.

3 of the nieces seem to be daughters of James' brother Thomas. In 1871 2 of them are living in Tipton with Thomas and Esther Hayes. Thomas listed as a traveller born c1838 Handsworth.

There is a marriage for Thomas Biggs and Esther Capewell 24 Dec 1860 St Bartholomew Birmingham. Thomas' father is listed as Robert Biggs.

On the 1841 census there is a Robert and Mary Hayes listed living in Handsworth with a number of children including a James and a Thomas.
