I have been searching through the WW1 military records and i have found what could be my husbands Grandfather. I had very little to go on so needless to say it has been very difficult. Not knowing what regiment he was in or his rank number, this is a total guess but it seems to fit. His name is David Downing, he came from the Smethwick/ Dudley area. According to what i have found, he was in the Worc. RLC from 31-8-14 to 12-4-19 Rank PTE. Number 568316... I have been told that he sustained injuries to his face , i'm assuming that he was discharged on these grounds. The card says ...Reason for discharge... PARA 892 (KVIA) KR. i have no idea what that means. Is there any way i can find out if this is the man i am looking for, i dont want to add him to my ancestry tree if he is not. Does anyone have any suggestions?
