That was not uncommon.

Could be that Eleuterio went first, intending to find work and then send for them but in this case it may just have been that the child wasn't well enough to travel when he went.
 
From their arrival up until 1995 there appears to be 62 Iommi birth registrations (in one form or another) in England. I think I've accounted for all of them except one rogue registered in Hammersmith 1949 - Frederick J Iommi, possibly illegitimate.

There doesn't seem to be any other mentions of him.

62 you say, hopefully i have all of those on my tree.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a Fredrick Iommi, would be interesting to see who he is. He’d be the same age as my dad, so he may not be alive now.

P.s Is a deed poll document something that would be available like birth certificates and historical records? I only ask because I changed my sons name by deed poll when they were very young. So they are recognised everywhere with my surname. But birth certificate says different. I have put a note on the tree to explain but I guess in another 100 years it would be confusing
 
I suppose they may be in time. Certain records have limits when they become available, as much as a hundred years for some. I don't know about deed poll. I do remember seeing the report if name change of a distant relative somewhere though. Not sure where but this happened in 1967.

You can see name changes on birth registrations, where a child has 2 at the same time, one of them corresponding to another at a later date. This usually happened when an illegitimate child officially took his step father's name or a child was reg. under their mother's name before their parents married and was re-registered afterwards under their father. There are a few other scenarios also.
 
Ah ok so there's a possibility it may come up on the birth reg in years to come. And you have seen names changes, interesting.

Also im booked in at st chads in October, this was for cross referencing before the church found an earlier map of the cemetery. So technically I don't need to do that, but I was going to keep the apointment. Can you think of anything useful I could do whilst there to help me with the family tree.
 
The re-registering and the name change I saw (a third cousin) were different things. Unfortunately, I can't find the latter atm, it may have been in the London Gazette, a government newspaper.

Without knowing what records they hold I'm not sure. I can't really think of anything that needs resolving for your Iommi family (in England).
 
I was wondering the other day why Felice and Angelina's English marriage was in the Catholic records, I'd assume that they would have a Catholic marriage.

It may because that the marriage records for St Michael are not online for that time.

So that's something you could look for, I am assuming if they did have Catholic marriage it was there.

ok That's something I could look for at st chads. If I don't find it, I think that's on my list to purchase anyway.
Could I purchase records actually from Italy, from their registry office?. It would be good to get some birth certificates.
