Iommi family

I think I may have found Luciano.

In 1911 in Wellington, Shropshire listed as Luciano Pecolio b1867 Italy, an Organ Grinder. Listed as single.

In 1921 in Northwich, Cheshire listed as Luciano Peckio b1869 Italy, a labourer (?). Listed as married.

Later in 1921 he marries an Elizabeth Bradburn (listed as Charles Peck) reg. in Northwich and goes on to have 6 children (all listed as Peck).

In 1939 they are in Rudheath, near Northwich. He is listed Lusano Peck b1869.

His death is reg. Dec qtr 1946 Northwich as Luciano Charles Peck.

If it's him then it would seem that he abandoned Elizabeth but obviously can't be certain.

Some circumstantial evidence to tentatively support it.

He called his first daughter Violet and 2 of his sons Antonio and Angelo. On his marriage to Elizabeth Smith his father's name appears to be Angelo Antonio.

Firstly when you said all this, I immediately thought that if he abandoned them all, that maybe why Alfred took the foster name when he joined up to the army. So Elizabeth sister married a Verrechia, they had some children and Alexandra was godmother to one?

and Luciano went on to have 6 more children which means the remaining 3 had lots of half siblings.
Its so confusing with all the name changing, I don't understand on the census because don't they fill that one out themselves, and when doing marriage or baptism documents, why not make sure its spelled correctly.

The 1911 and 1921 are usually self written but in Luciano's case he is in lodging houses on both so the manager/owner would have written it based on pronunciation.
Early censuses may contain errors because people couldn't read and write. Difficult with English names but even harder with foreign names.

Ah yes that's a point. I also notice that lots of people took in lodgers, was that to get help with paying bills?

The next 3 posts are the census/register entries thaat MWS refers to in post #541. In the case of 1911 and 1921 I haev also posted the address. Both of those seem to be lodging houses.

Thanks. I'm don't know why I asked that, there's a possible seventh child with the wrong mmn listed but he's not born until 1940, so wouldn't be on there anywhere. Think I'm getting a bit frazzled.

I am confused and I am not searching.
We seem to be splitting the task - you search then I post.
Transcripts and spellings do differ between Ancestry and FMP which doesn't help.
Keep up the good work

Luciano had 3 children with Elizabeth Smith - Alexandra, Violet (dies young) and Alfred Henry (who may not be his).

He then had up to 7 with Elizabeth Bradburn - all listed as Peck.

A note of caution. It does all fit but there is no real proof that the 2 Lucianos are the same person at the moment.

Ok yes I have those but for some reason also listed an Elizabeth as a 4th child so I’ll remove that.
He had a lot of children and all their families branch off somewhere. Wonder what the peck name is like now, or if it’s still listed as peck.
Could go on forever that line.
