Iommi family

As you mentioned previously Giuseppe's death was registered by N Musticone, niece.

Assuming this to be true then that would make one of her parents a sibling of Giuseppe. Maria was an Iommi so I would say it was very likely. It would be nice to see a marriage for her and Luigi to confirm this and hopefully sooner or later the Italian records will be put online to allow this.

Likewise for the final sibling (and the 2 who died) probably.

Francesco could be a child of this unknown Iommi, making him and his wife cousins or perhaps a more distant relative, a grandson of Felice's brother Gaetano maybe.

Their marriage certificate will give his father's name, though that won't help with the actual relationship.

Right…. Thanks for that. I’ve added Maria Iommi as a child for felice, so all that side ties in now :)

I’ll also add Gaetano as a brother for Felice.

Ok Felice and Angelina’s marriage certificate, I will order that today, it said online they married in 1900?! But on the census it mentioned they’d be married for years , so will b interesting to see.

I did mean the marriage certificate for Francesco Iommi and Maria Musticone to see who his father was.

I think we assumed that Felice and Angelina probably married some years previously in Italy and for whatever reason decided to marry again in England. That was just speculation, his father should be listed as Giovanni hopefully.

It can become expensive ordering certificates and in most cases is doesn't really tell you anything you didn't already know. I try to limit myself to those for direct ancestors.

Ahh I see, it would be beneficial to order Francesco & Maria’s, as his father, maybe be Nicolas father too.
God knows where Giuseppe the artist fits in.

But I guess it isn’t in my direct line really.
If anything the only grandparents death certificate I haven’t ordered is Angelina’s so I may order that.

What you need is for Tony Iommi to appear on one of ancestry tv programmes.

Looking at his Wikipedia page though I would say that they have his parents' details wrong.

I know that Tony’s mom and dad were anthony frank, and Sylvia :) most of my aunts & uncle met them and use to go to all the black sabbath concerts back in the day, but when Sylvia died contact dropped off…

Yea that would be super interesting if he done that. But some people aren’t interested in genealogy.

I’ve just looked at the Wikipedia page, the location it says his father came from is wrong, he was born here and the family would be the same as mine. ?!

P.s to add I’ve just found out that John perca was Italian, so my aunt just said.
She would be grateful to find any info of that side :)

They have Tony Iommi's mother mixed up with his grandmother. Maria Sylvia Baciocchi was born in Aston. Her mother was Beatrice Volante and she was born in Italy, I don't know if it was Sicily.

Ahhh right, I was thinking then have I got that side completely wrong…. Phew!
saying that Wikipedia can be wrong

Also the Bacciochi (various spellings) family had been in Bham for 3 generations before Maria. Her father and grandfather were born in Bham and it was her great grandfather who came from Italy and married an English woman.

George's grandmother, Lydia Lewis (nee Russell) died in 1879.
Yes not sure if you’ve seen on tree, someone sourced a photo of her for me a while ago, probably the oldest photo I’ve got so far :)
Still can't see any other record (census or birth) for her. Or any other Perca.

Maybe she was born in Italy (or wherever), family came to Bham between censuses, went back and then she returned???
is it possible that the census was not filled out? John perca had passed by 1914, could he have not come here at all, but Alexandra did? I’m not sure

Anything is possible. She could be a relative of another Italian family and came with them to Bham or one that was already here and came to join them. We just don't know but we now know that she had been in Bham before she married.

Interestingly George Miles' grandfather was a bricklayer.
