Do spiders come in for warmth?

Why Do Spiders Come Indoors More During Autumn| Confirm A Kill

Many people believe that spiders invade our homes in search of warmth, but this actually isn't true. In fact, as disturbing as some of you might find, the chances are our eight-legged friends have been in our properties all year round. The largest spider found in the UK is the Cardinal Spider (Tegenaria parietina). Male examples have been recorded with an impressive 12 cm leg span. By comparison the smallest species of 'Money spiders' (family Linyphiidae) have a leg span of little more than 2 mm.View attachment 194743
Yet, we seem to see more spiders in the house, once the weather changes. I always used to just pick them up, and throw them out side. Until once when I did it, it turned around and ran straight past me, much to the horror of the family. A friend of mine used to do the same thing, until he got bit and his hand swelled up, not nice.

Hi, bought an orange tree from local super market and a bag of "orange tree compost" from local garden centre. Has done well for a few weeks but now looking "poorly" and dropping leaves. What do you think, too wet?, too hot?, too cold? Forgot to say in conservatory.

Don't want to sound pessimistic but I don't they are the easiest thing to grow. I would suggest you look at
"Gardening know how " site and follow their advice

Is it evergreen? If not it`s probably gone dormant.

Yes to evergreen. I googled it and it very helpfully said "if leaves are falling it could be...." and then listed the things you said. Apparently they don't like draughts, cold, too much heat or soil which is too dry or too wet. It also takes a year for flowers to turn into fruit. So patience needed lol.

So as my all time favourite TV gardener, Geoffrey Smith used to say "it needs the right conditions".

tarantulas were confirmed to be in the UK.
Homeowners across the country have noticed a rise in the number of spiders as well as the size of them in recent weeks.

i dont mind spiders in the garden shed or house but not these

“Spiders live alongside us all year round and this is something to celebrate, not fear.:cold_sweat:

I'm generally OK with spiders, but a Tarantula would be highly likely to see the sole of my shoe.

An elderly couple who live nearby have taken much pleasure over the years from watching the birds, mainly sparrows, who flocked to the feeders outside their kitchen.B window. But this year, from about Spring time, the numbers have diminished rapidly. Would anyone hazard a guess as to why? They regularly clean the feeders, and haven't changed the bird seed. I feel so sorry for them, they really miss those birds!
