HS2 Railway

Not sure if this is the right thread for these photos.

I had another go on the Big Wheel to take photos of the work so far on the HS2 Rail, it was very cold and windy up there, they are digging on the site where the original rail lines would have come into station, any road here are 22 photo to look at

gosh you were brave going up in the cold horsencart...great vantage point though and great photos...they seem to be getting a move on now...thank you

I can reveal that parts of my anatomy was very cold, it has to be said that I was not alone and a fellow photographer came with me (he is a saft as me)

If you pop along to Eastside at the weekend, you can see the Coca Cola Truck again.

This was December 2017 (last year).

 
Yesterday evening during the sleet storm with the return of the Coca Cola truck with Ice Skate Birmingham's Big Wheel next to The Woodman.

 
HS2 Archaeology tents seen from the ramp down to Moor Street Queensway. The student accommodation Curzon Gate will have to be demolished for HS2.

Looking at the route of the HS2 rail link it occured to me that we may have crossed it several times in the past. Below is the route near Priors Hardwick in Warwickshire, and a picture of my late mucker approaching the Oxford Canal in 2005. He would be standing close to the rail link, the scene would be a lot different now!

Work continues at Curzon Street and the old roundhouse has been covered up again. The construction site is a busy place as soil and aggregates are moved around and pipes for drainage laid. There are some new roads laid down, but will they be of a temporary nature. From one artist's plan , the route of the Metro is shown to cross under the station, whist the station itself is raised on a long and wide concrete base.
