Could someone please tell me what the Warwick Road (running from Birmingham out through to Solihull and beyond into Warwickshire countryside) was called before it became known as the Warwick Road? I have been searching to find the name of the road (in the last couple of centuries or so) going back into history.
I am trying to find the public house that took its name from Seven Star Road and which, supposedly, stood at the junction of the Warwick Road and Seven Star Road. I have been looking at local census records going back to 1841 in the hope that I can find it but when I ask for Warwick Road in Solihull, it doesn't come up with an answer. The options are either Lapworth or Birmingham. I have a feeling that going back to when the pub might have been in existence that, it would have been known as being in Solihull, Birmingham. When I was a child we often received post addressed to Shirley or Solihull in Birmingham.
Can you please think about this to see if you have any ideas? Thank you.
