hipkiss family

Hi my mums cousin is Roy Hipkiss (she was the daughter of Mary Bebee). Roy Hipkiss was the son of Elizabeth Hipkiss.
They are related to the above post ... Ellen Farrell who we are trying to track down.
Not sure if these the Hipkiss family you are trying to track down.
Kind regards.

We had a Hipkiss family living near us in Hurlingham Road Kingstanding in the 1940s/50s, the only name I recall is, I think, John.

I have, in my family tree, a May Hipkiss of 89 Preston Road, Winson Green. I don't have access to details at the moment, I'm looking at an NHS Ins card starting Jan 1918 she passed in Sutton Sept 20, 1962, aged 73. (b1889 approx) I believe she had a brother George, and although I can't immediatlely find any evidence, City Road had at some point, had a family residence.

Thank You, MWS, spot on. She married Edwin David Cox. They were my late wife's grandparents. I know the forward story, their children and the siblings but would be fascinated by links to any backstory. My late mother-in-law Eva was featured in a book about the US Army Postal Service in Sutton Coldfield.

May was the daughter of Richard Edgar Hipkiss and Susannah West. They married in 1876 and including May had 7 sons and 6 daughters.

Richard b1854 d 1935 (bur Warstone Lane) was a jeweller, the son of Richard Hipkiss and Catherine Wright.

Susannah West b1851 d1925 (bur Warstone Lane) was possibly the daughter of William West and Mary Ann Adams.

Richard Hipkiss was also a jeweller and William West was a burnisher. All born Bham/Aston.

Richard Hipkiss (father) b1835 d1914 was the son of (another) Richard Hipkiss and Elizabeth Williams. As mentioned he was a jeweller though in 1861 he is listed as a Publican on Ludgate Hill.

Richard Hipkiss b1815 d1841 was the son of (you guessed it) Richard Hipkiss and his second wife, Hannah Preston).

And I think Richard Hipkiss was b1775 Dudley d1839 the son of (nope not this time) John Hipkiss and Jenny Harrison.
