Hi Karen

Do you know who Charles George married in 1925, i looked on Ancestry and that qtr is missing. I found the marriage for

Philip James Hickman/Jessie Davies 3rd qtr 1927 Birmingham N 6d 1066
I then looked for their children but it looks like there was at least two other Hickman/Davies families having kids around the same time so couldn't know who belonged to who, nightmare, bit of bad luck that was.

Hi Bren,

Free BMD records these marriages in Dec Qtr 1925:

Hickman Charles G Spouse Bradnock Birmingham N. 6d 1114

Hi Bren & Procat,

Armed with your information I have been able to jog Dads memory - he recalls Phillip having children named Ken, Diana, Eileen & possibly John

Charles married Lily and possibly had two children born in the early 1930's.

I don't have any records, occupations or addresses to support this information but now I have somewhere to start researching again.

Thank you.

Hi Karen,

Found these two on Ancestry - checked the indexes to the end of 1939.

Births June Quarter 1927

Hickman Dorothy Mother Bradnock W.Bromwich 6b 1267

Births March Quarter 1934

Hickman Vernon J Mother Bradnock Sutton Coldf'd 6d 873

Many thanks - everything helps.

If I can help with some Tassie research - please let me know - I find time occasionally to get into the State library, and would be happy to return all the help I'm receiving from this forum.
:grin2:Karen

I looked for a marriage for Vernon up to the end of 1970 and found nothing. I then started looking for Dorothy, there was so many i stopped at the end of 1950.

Thanks Bren - and how true your quote is. I have found this family so elusive - I could never have thought there were so many people with that surname.(lol) I really appreciate the help being offered through this forum but wish one of the family would log in and reveal a few threads.

Cheers
Karen
