Hi All, I am looking to see if anyone can recognise the uniform or cap badge of the attached photo, it was passed on to me last year, its was tightly rolled up and kept in a tube and I don't think it has seen the light of day for decades, thank you in advance for any help you can pass on to me. John

Just speculating.

Is the bottom part of the badge a powder flask? So a Rifles regiment maybe, though different regiments appear to have slightly different badges.

Would it be possible to scan the cap badge of one of the soldiers at a higher resolution? from the picture there seems to be a resemblance to the badge in this picture:
Henry Charles Daunter in KSLI uniform.jpg
The uniform has similarities, although the collar is buttoned differently. The subject was my wife's grandfather who served in the King's Shropshire Light Infantry.

The soldier seated bottom right has quite visible epaulet badges which may help to identify the regiment. Is it possible to scan this area at higher resolution?
