I'm new to this forum and haven't had chance to look at all of it yet, but...

from what I've seen already it looks fascinating...

I was born in Birmingham, at St Chads, some sixty three years ago and spent my early years in Bearwood...

I subsequently lived in various places including Blackheath, Cannock, and Oldbury...

I left the midlands in 1983 and now reside "up north", however...

Birmingham is "home" and I return regularly..:)

I started investigating my family tree some years ago and uncovered some amazing stuff, some of which, no doubt, I will share in the months to come...

I have managed to trace my fathers tree back to the mid 1700s, although, if I'm honest, there is one slightly tenuous link...

anyway, I'm rambling a little...

just wanted to say hello, and I hope we become good friends

Welcome to the Forum Stevec. I'm sure you will enjoy being here. You brought back memories of Bearwood where Mom and I used to go to shop. I recall a Kings Hall Market - a fascinating place, and Gliderways coaches.

Welcome Steve, I joined this very recently too and it's great fun. I lived in Brum as a child and moved to Nottingham then Kent for nearly forty years and we're now down here in Chichester. I do go back to Brum occasionally. It's so interesting to read about peoples' memories and so refresh my own ( and dig some old ones up as well)

You're not the only one who has drifted further North Stevec, but good to see Brum hasn't lost you.

Another newbie to the Forum
