heavy snow warning for birmingham

They said it would be with us at 6pm and it was 30 minutes late :)
I was woken up in the middle of the night with heavy rain hitting the window so now we have roads of grey slush.

plenty of snow here in kingstanding alberta side roads inches deep..we are high up though so i always think we get it quite bad..looks like most schools are closed

I do not remember schools ever being closed because of snow when I attended
nor i mike...it was a different world back then..i think a lot of teachers lived more local to the schools they taught at and there was also more schools about so pupils did not have to walk far..if the heating was down we sat in our coats and scarfs..simple as that

We moved to Cannock just in time for the 62/63 winter, missed school just 1 day that winter and even then I walked there, the snow was piled up either side of the pavement, when I got there the school had been closed.
