This view sketched by one of the Lines family is, I believe, taken from the junction with Newhall Street. Directly ahead and in the distance is the former chapel on the site of St Chad's. In 1839/41 St. Chads replaced this Georgian classical chapel (built 1808 by William Hollins).

I have the impression that Phyllis Nicklin either checked or was told of planning applications for demolition. She did seem to capture a lot of stuff that was lost not too long afterwards. She did visit some spots more than once and a few others where the building still stand, so maybe there was a delay or a change of mind.
