Golden Hillock Road School

I was fortunate enough to teach at Golden Hillock Junior school for four terms 1967-68 when Miss Brookes was head. I was a student teacher then and returned again for a month or so on teaching practice at the Comprehensive . I think the primary school had relocated to Conway Road by then. I remember Mr Lang,Mrs.Higham,Mrs Deane and George Price in particular ,on the primary school staff, along with another younger teacher Bruce Davison, who was there for just two terms. It was an extremely happy school as I recall and I think I learned as much from the kids as they did from me! I think about them often and certain names and faces come readily to mind…George and Robert Scattergood,Tim Price,Gary Fawke,David Sumner, Ronnie Pinnock and Kenny Maynard and among the young ladies,Carol Kennanh (excuse spelling!) whose mum was the school secretary ,Susan Lilley,Miriam o Reilly and Susan west. So many more I could mention but suffice to say,I hope you all enjoy/enjoyed a good life and thank you for the memories.
