Nice find Janice, the prominent letters are Williams Bros. Electrical (in 1966/67) but looks as though there are a few prior to that. This is on the wall of 97 Grange Road Small Heath (B10 area). Found while taking a "now" shot from photo posted by SteveBhx
That was quick John, I didn't expect a reply so quick - not complaining though - thank you!It looks like 'D. ARCHER' 190A ?????, HANDSWORTH. I've not found it in Kelly's yet though
It looks like j Archer 190 Albert road Handsworth. 190, Albert road is a building of two newish houses set back from the pavement, could have been a builders yard in the past. Alf.

Thanks Janice, maybe Frank was John's son and the company expanding by that time.In 1908 it was 198A and listed to W B & F T Archer builders - that is William Bennett and Frank Thomas
Thanks Mikejee, lots of history there.Posts Moved tothis thread
From Kellys:
John Archer, builder, 190 Albert Road, Handsworth 1895 -1899.editions.
The 1892 edition shows a Little King st address
From 1900 edition the address was 198 Albert Road
Remember that date is publication date and probably refers to year before
In 1908 it was 198A and listed to W B & F T Archer builders - that is William Bennett and Frank Thomas

And all kinds of earthenware below I think.Glass and china is in one place, It looks rather like the darker signs were covered at a later date by a roof.
