Sandra,you don't give any date but Kelly's 1949 shows
the Eagle Inn at 60 Scholefield Street with the name Edwin Wm Clarke,it appears to be on the corner with Weston Street & Alpha Place.Sorry no further info.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all your replies, I have another question , hope someone can help, was there another pub in Scholefield Street I think it was no.49 friends parents lived there we cannot find out what it was called in 1901 census I told her about this web site.
Fantastic photos thanks.

Sandra

There doesnt seem to be another pub listed but that isnt to say it didnt share a corner location so is addressed in another street.

Hi everyone just to let you all know that l misread the records and after double checking because everyone was saying that the eagle vaults was no 60 and not 49, that my greatgrandad James Gough ran the pub in 1901. thankyou very much to everyone who helped me especially Sandra for getting the ball rolling.

Hi there, lived in Weston Street Nechells and the outdoor to the Eagle Inn, was in my Street. A Mrs Davis/Davies who before hand had a grocery shop in Scholfield Street, was the last land lady I remember at the Eagle, her son John, also worked there....Brumbabe9

Hi
I can see this post was a long time ago but have just found relatives of mine were living in The Eagle in 1935.
Would you still have any photos?
Many thanks.

Hi Elaine,
I was just going through the Scholfield street links as my Grandad lived there in the 1910 - 1950's? Here is a picture of him (Alfred Tranter) on left and one of the Tarone family on the seat. This is outside the Eagle pub about 1948ish.
