Hi,
I have traced my family back to the Drew's of Birmingham. In the 1881 census, my great grandfather Milton Augustin Drew was living with his parents at Mill Lane, Aston. His father, John Drew was the master miller at the time. I was wondering whether anyone had any further information on the other descendents of John Drew?

Any help is much appreciated as I seem to have come to a wall with this...

Thanks
Nicole Barber (nee Drew)

Hi Nicole

1891 Census - Milton A Drew working as a grocer - listed as a servant - Great Hampton Street - aged 19

1901 census - married to Amy E - daughter Gwendoline aged 8 months - grocer - at grocers shop on Washwood Heath Road

Any use?

Steve

Hi nbarbar and welcome to the site. If you put John Drew into search engine at the top of the page you will find alot of info about him. Also put Ward End Mill into search engine and you will find more info about the mill. I think that you may probably find that you have a distant relative on this site, it may be worth while trying to pm him, his user name is Tippen, any more help just shout. Good luck on your quest :)

thanks

Thanks for all the info. Some I already had, especially the stuff on Milton. However I had not found his sibling's marriages or that they'd married a brother and sister. This forum is a goldmine!

Thanks Loisand, I shall pm this potential relative, maybe we can compare notes.

Currently no connection, but a DREW appearance you are not likely to find in an on-line index...

Louisa DREW was a witness at the marriage of my GGGF William HOMER and Mary Ann MATTHEWS on 6 January 1851 at St Peter & St Paul's Church in the Parish of Aston.
