Hi Patty - thanks for putting the original post up again, don't they look young. I played with them on the last 2 gigs as the Crescendos The Lyndon, Sheldon (Sat) and The Birmid Social Club (Sun) before they formed The Triangle.

Trev and Betty were up at our house the weekend and I forgot to ask Trev the dates, he has all his original diaries.

He has now joined this forum and I will send you his user name on an IM. All the best George

Yes they used to play at my dad's pub the Three men in a Boat in Walsall

Re Chris Evans

The Mayfair Set in 1966 after Danny King left. The line-up was Chris Evans and Jim Murphy (both guitar and vocals), Denny Ball (bass guitar), and Dave Reay (drums). They went to Germany where they recorded a couple of singles that were released there on one of the local labels.

Anyone remember The Second City Sound they used to play at The Viking Lode Land Sunday lunch time, I always thought their vocalist went on to Pickettywitch but now I am not sure, does anyone know.

Keith I am so sorry not looked at this post for quite a while. I will let Phil know about the contact when next we speak.

The Picketywitch vocalist was Polly Brown she used to live in Grange Road Small Heath .I have seen Second City Sounds used to play at the Custard House but I don't remember a female vocalist , then again I don't remember a lot of things Bernie

I have just read an interview with Ken Freeman of The Second City Sound, in it he confirms that Polly Browne was their female vocalist before going on to Pickettywitch.

I remember the name very clearly Patty but because I was not a great fan of pop music, I can only assume that the memories are from my working on doors in various areas of the City in those days. I am an avid reader of any new letters or information about Brumbeat because now I am almost old, ha ha, I have more interest. My liking for Rock and Pop music is still virtually non-existant but my interest is in the names and places. As an afterthought I will admit to getting enjoyment from listening to The Moody Blues.
