I, too, was trying to remember what the Forum entrance looked like. I think I only went there a couple of times because we had good cinemas in the area where I lived so we got films as soon as they were on general release.

The building is still there. I think it is just used for storage now.

I remember this so well, Lyn. I ran out of Bogart's with my Oxford Bags billowing in the wind while running towards the 33 bus stop outside the Odeon. Unfortunately, I tripped over my 2ft high platform shoes I was wearing and twisted both my ankles quite badly...

Always sad to see how nice it used to be. I'm 'only' fifty and from the inner city, so too young to have seen a more homogenous and clean Birmingham, where people still took pride in their stoop and appearance and everything seemed classier.

Attachment 154498, I remember as a youth , coming home on leave, crossing that very piece of road, with my suitcase in Uniform, love the Ken Sue, in the Vauxhall, I really miss those times, everything seemed so simple!!

Unfortunately I don't live in Brum and so can't help. I completely agree, but its not just the old buildings. Nowadays the average life of buildings seems to be getting shorter and shorter. When I first came to the city the "middle" bullring had just been built, and I'm sure that then no-one would have dreamed that within 40 years it would completely (except for the Rotunda) disappear from the face of the earth.

2 ft,they were stilts not shoes
