Church with graves

proper brummie kid
Can anyone help please? Its a long shot I know but fingers crossed someone can help.

Is there a definitive list anywhere of churches that have their own burial grounds in Birmingham, Aston, Perry Barr, Handsworth, West Bromwich areas going from around 1900 to 1925 ish. I am looking for a grave I have the persons death certificate and place where he died and was registered and I have now contacted over 50 churches and council cemeteries/ crematoriums in the area and I cannot find where this person was buried or cremated so looking for a list where I can cross off the places I have contacted and try the rest.

I dont want to put the name of the person publicly at this stage for personal reasons but would be grateful for any help or advice.

Many thanks

Ron

Hi Janice, Many thanks for the reply, yes I tried Birmingham bereavment services, also Sandwell and Dudley Councils, Perry Barr Crem and around 50 other churches in the vicinity of the areas I mentioned, the person I am looking for was a methodist as far as I am aware. I even tried the main methodist organisation to see if they have any records to no avail.

can be hard work ron trying to find where people are buried/cremated...have you considered that for some reason the person was buried outside of birmingham maybe in his birthplace...i have a rellie who died in nottingham but buried at witton as he was born in birmingham...just a thought

thank you both, yes tried Birmingham Parish records, I also have loads of those on microfiche at home. The person I am looking for was born, lived and died in Birmingham and was single when he passed still living with his parents. I found some siblings that are buried in Langley, Oldbury and as far as Nottingham but cannot find this person.

hi ron understand why you prefer not to name the person but i am afraid without giving us any details which may help us i dont think we can suggest much more but good luck

I was searching like yourself around 6 months ago, I discovered that st chad cathedral in Birmingham City centre hold catholic burials, the archivist works thursdays/fridays, if you send an email she can check for you. All other burials if not on the Birmingham City website, the library in town may have records aswell.

Also im not sure how it worked back then but a family friend was just recently was cremated and they have no resting place and are now at home, so there is no actual burial place.
