They were our favourite treats from Baines the Bakers. I realise now the choc-a-malts were probably slices of malt loaf covered in milk chocolate and the choux cakes were all pointy-shaped and absolutely full of cream. I tried to make the choc-a-malts a couple of years ago but they didn't turn out very well; I think they must have been made in individual molds. They weren't as bad for your health as the choux cakes, but then again, if you were to shove a choux in front of me, it wouldn't last long!
