Hi Guys ;
I do not know whether or not this is the correct slot ;
but i just want to say on the subject of history of brum and documented books about birmingham of yester years i would recomend the charity shops around brum go and scour them for you will find them out there ;
i was in kings norton the green birmingham the day before yesterday
it was just coming up to 4 oclock and the charity shop there was due to close
i pulled up especialy to look in the shop window when i spotted a series of volumes by rober dent of the late brum ated in the late 180s to the early 190s
and as i went into to purchase them they was the continued series of volumes of of index of three quite thick books priced at 60 pounds for the three
but the lady locked the shop door as i got back into my car out side the very shop an older guy in his slippers walked bye and noticed the books and bent down o get closer to see them ;i thought to myself i will come back early
in the morning i got there for 9-30 from worcestershire only to find this old guy went back in the morning as well and got them ; they was by robert dent
as we all know is a good writer of brum so i missed out
and as we know now brum is full of charity shops and they can be gold mines
of gems so i say if you do not go into these shops for what ever reason i suggest you do as you will find history of our dear old brum in them but you have to scour there shelfs for them but they are in there
so far as a recommendation goes if you want a bok go there and save pounds
you do not have to spend pounds in the big book sellers book shop to obtain them so i recommend them and please use your local or tour the birmingham charity shops for boks on brum best wishes Astonian;;
