During the early 70's I was at college near to Butlin's Pwllheli camp in North Wales. Every time I passed the camp I couldn't help but feel sorry for the inmates ... sorry, holiday-makers ... viewed through the wire-perimeter fence it looked just like a prison camp; especially during the off-season period, or during bad weather. Mind you, having since then experienced a few ill-chosen 'package holidays' abroad, I can see the appeal!
