and a third view of houses in the street, probably in the early 1900s. I think that the edge of the malt shovel is just shown to the right of the photo, meaning that the camera is pointing towards the Moseley Road

Hi Mikejee. Great photos of Brighton Road, on photo No 2 next door to the pub is the builders yard of F.Fortey and sons where I started work as a decorator in 1954 aged 15 the pub by this time had become a Cafe so we used that quite often, St Johnstons the other side of the bridge was rebuilt and over the years I did a lot of work there and had to work around boxs of wine which could be tricky in later life it became a woodworking workshop. Another view of Brighton Road. About 1910. I'm curious about the building on the extreme right. Can't quite read the inscription over entrance. Any thoughts? Looking towards the railway bridge.
