Where about on Tyburn road?
Can't remember her house number, but it was between Kingsbury Road and Salford Bridge, where the number 79 tram used to run from Pype Hayes terminus.
Where about on Tyburn road?
Beeches Drive, Erdington. Off Cedar Drive where I lived, off Grange Road, Holly Lane at one end, Chester Road at the other end. Brings a tear to the eye.!!!!!!!!!

I remember that area, delivering papers and thinking how posh it was.
Blimey thats a fair stretch of road
Definitely the posh end of Brum in the day. My Dad worked at Joseph Lucas's, a top man in the drawing office. Although you wouldn't have thought it, tight old git. Lol.
About half way between the two.
Probably not far from me then
I reckon, somewhere near Ansell Road, Stonyhurst Road, or Abbots Road on the R/H side going towards Salford Bridge. Did you know Nesta Hampton, lived at 25 Woodend Road. Or do you remember Allen's TV & Radio shop on the High Street, Erdington.
It was on the L/H side about 150 yds down from Six Ways. Dave Allen the son of the owner and a life long friend is still going and we are in touch on a regular basis. The photo of the old taxi was taken outside his house in Beeches Drive.
What door number?
bikeral, thought you might want to look at what them houses look like today, well about year ago anyway

Your only as posh as your last few beers. The booze is a great leveler.View attachment 82267I knew you was posher then me. I was born in the front room of this house. Although the garden was better in my day.
There used to be crazes on things I remember.
There was a restaurant called "Fannys" in the Town, they served a steak on a wooden platter. People used to queue for a seat, then, before you knew it, it had gone out of favour.
Fleur de Lis pies, shops selling them sprang up everywhere. God I loved the chicken & mushroom !
I seem to remember they originated from a pub called the Fleur de Lis but can't remember where it was.
Now come on what's wrong with the 100e, my first car after I past my test in 63. Took my Mother up to Manchester to visit my Aunt in 64 used almost as much engine oil as petrol, in those days you could stop and top up the oil on the hard shoulder of the M6, ended up changing one of the pistons after trying the new wonderful piston seal, what a waste of time and money.Great photo's, I like the old Standard Vanguard and the Ford 100E in the one shot. I spent a lot of free time in the city in those days.
Nothing wrong with the 100E Nick. my mate used to run his on a mixture of petrol and paraffin. It didn't seem to make a lot of difference to the performance. I had an Austin A35 at that time, with a stage 2 tune, on the head, used to go like the proverbial s--t off a shovel.
