Found this reference, although not formally listed building(s) there are protections :

The Infirmary Front Range Retention: While not officially Grade II listed by Historic England, the master redevelopment plan enforced by Homes England and Birmingham City Council explicitly mandates the retention of the historic Infirmary Front Range due to its local architectural and cultural value.

But this is probably just as reliable as the many housing developments specifying "X% affordable homes ", which rarely actually occurs even with the ridiculous definition of "affordable"

The first block of the site that i'm referring to is the one where the A&E section was attached to.
I'm not familiar with the official listing status, I was told by work colleagues that it couldn't be demolished because it was 'listed'

Image below shows the plans, its there at the front. Taken from the visty website.

BMEC/Sheldon blocks (green dots), DGM building (blue dot), multistory carpark (yellow dot) and BTC (red dot) will remain.

hi zero would you happen to have any photos of the archway building before it was demolished or better still of the inside of it....i tried to get some but with the boarding around it was difficult and i couldnt get in..thanks again for the amazing photos

Thanks Janice, that's helpful. I think this must be a view of part of that saved building. Maybe the central section of the frontage - See my orange dot on the map.

If the whole (blue marked and part of original infirmary ) section as per Janice's plan in post #97 is being 'preserved' (and albeit converted to domestic dwellings) that's at least better than I thought. It's quite a substantial building.

It is being converted to 53 apartments so must be pretty big.
